Diving, Swimming, Synchronised Swimming and Water Polo are the four disciplines that will feature during the 2012 Olympics.  Between Saturday 28th July and Sunday 12th August 2012 our sports will be held at the Aquatics Centre, with the 10K marathon swim taking place at the Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park.

Disability Swimming will be one of the 20 sports featuring at the Paralympics, with events being held between Friday 31st August and Saturday 8th September 2012.

British Swimming sent a total of 49 athletes to represent swimming, diving and synchronised swimming at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 36 athletes from Disability Swimming to participate in the Paralympics.

British Swimming will be hoping for a larger contingent for 2012 and is training athletes across all its disciplines using a four-year cycle that culminates in the Olympics and Paralympics.

British Swimming Chief Executive David Sparkes said: “Preparations for all of our sports are right-on-track to build on the success that the aquatics team enjoyed in Beijing and our legacy programme is also taking shape.

“We are confident that we will not only see British success in the pool but we will also see swimming moving to a new level with more people swimming more often and having more fun in the pool."
