Here you can access a secure area for athlete families and volunteers to search for accommodation hosts during the 2012 Games. You can also apply to become a host for 2012 athlete families or volunteers.

If you are the family of an athlete performing at the 2012 Games or a volunteer at the Games seeking accommodation then click on the button right. You will need:

  • Your secure area username
  • Your secure area password

How to get a User Name and Password

Registering to Host

The 2012 Olympics and Paralympics is leading to a huge demand for accommodation for athletes’ families and volunteers.

British Swimming is looking for individuals and families willing to host visitors during the Games period in 2012. The dates are:

  • Olympic Games 27th July – 12th August
  • Paralympic Games 29th August – 9th September

If you are willing to host volunteers, GB Athletes’ families, or USA Athletes’ families please complete the registration form below. Your information will then be displayed to volunteers who have been selected as Games Makers and selected athletes parents through a secure area accessed with a username and password only available through the hosting team.

Once you have registered the following will take place:

  • Your Name, email address, location, travel time, number of bedrooms and hosting preference will be added to a secure area of www.swimming.org (we are not publishing telephone numbers or full addresses, it will be your choice at to what point you share this information)
  • The secure area will be made available to individuals who have been selected as volunteers or athletes for the Olympics / Paralympics
  • The selected athletes will provide the information to their families
  • Once the volunteer / athletes family logs into the secure area they will have access to your contact information and what you are able to offer
  • British Swimming will not be involved in any discussions regarding hosting arrangements, these will take place between yourself as the host and the volunteer / athlete family
  • Once you have agreed to host a family / volunteer you need to let us know so that we are able to remove your details from the secure area
  • Your information will be available in the secure area until such a time as you contact us to inform that you have agreed a host arrangement or until the 29th August (Opening Ceremony for Paralympics)

We are now going to ask you some questions about your accomodation and hosting preferences. Please provide the number of bedrooms you have available and tell us who you would prefer to host in order of preference. Please rate preferences 1,2,3, where 1 is your favoured option.







If you express an interest in hosting a volunteer your offer will be advertised to the selected volunteers and they will have the chance to make contact.

If you have expressed an interest in hosting USA athletes' families your information will be shared with the relevant contact in the USA.

If you have expressed an interest in hosting GB athletes' families your offer will be advertised to the selected athletes so they can pass the information on to their parents, they will then have the chance to make contact.

Please note that once you are in contact with an individual / family any agreement on hosting arrangements are between the two parties.

Your personal information will be used by British Swimming for the purpose of your involvement in hosting for 2012 and I understand that by submitting this form, I am consenting to receiving information about hosting for 2012 by post, email, online or phone unless stated otherwise. By completing the information above I understand that my contact details will be shared with the athlete’s family or volunteer.

Your information will now be added to a secure area on the website and advertised to selected individuals who are Olympic and/or Paralympic Games Makers (volunteers), parents of selected GB athletes or parents of selected USA athletes.
