In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Disability Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Thomas Young picks his favourite Paralympian of all time

To celebrate the Year to Go celebration for the London 2012 Paralympics on 29th August 2011, we caught up with Thomas Young and asked him who his favourite Paralympian of all time was.

Thomas Young broke onto the international scene in 2009, smashing his personal bests to make the European Championships squad before scooping three medals in Rekjavik.

A year later, the Manchester HPC swimmer completed his ascension to the top by clinching S8 400m Freestyle gold at the IPC Swimming World Championships in Eindhoven.

Young added a European title for SB7 100m Breaststroke in 2011 and will aim to make his Paralympic debut at London 2012.
