Andrew Willis was one of the surprise British performers at last year’s World Championships in Shanghai, reaching the final in his favourite 200m Breaststroke in what was only his second major meet.
The 21-year old had demonstrated his immense potential on his senior international debut at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, reaching the 200m Breaststroke final before touching in fourth - just 0.05 seconds off his first international medal.
And the Bracknell and Wokingham swimmer - who trains with Dave McNulty's elite group at the British Gas ITC Bath - continued his progress in 2011, clocking personal bests in both the 100m and 200m Breaststroke and finishing eighth on his World Championships debut for the latter.
We caught up with Willis - who has put his Chemical Engineering studies at Bath University on hold for the Olympic season - at December's European Short Course Championships in Poland to find out his thoughts on 2012.
