Swimming.org is home to everything you need to know about swimming. If you are a parent, a non swimmer or just want to improve your technique this is the section for you.

In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Disability Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Can you take the heat of competing against our top swimmers? Discover your ranking - Big Splasher, Swimfitter or Swim Master. Take on Liam Tancock, Fran Halsall and David Roberts in the 100m or Rebecca Adlington, David Davies and Ellie Simmonds in the 400m with Race a Swimmer 2012.

Race the Swimmers 2011It's easy to play.

  1. Find your local pool and jump in. Swim any stroke you like - try the Swimfit website for stroke improvement videos - and work hard to record your best time at either 100m or 400m.
  2. Choose either 100m or 400m in the game below, enter your time and see how far you are behind our swimming superstars 'Personal Best (PB) times. At the end they will give you a rating based on your time. Don't cheat though because they'll know.
  3. Tell all your friends your ranking and score on Facebook or Twitter and challenge them to do better.

Don't worry if our athletes are way ahead of you. They are Gold Medal winners for a reason. Just keep practising to see if you can become a Swim Master. Swimming 30 minutes at least once a week has loads of health benefits and you will burn heaps of calories. Try out the Swimfit Calorie Cruncher and you'll see what we mean. So get swimming. Our Superstars are waiting for a challenge.
