In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Para-Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Craig Hunter

Craig Hunter joined the British Swimming Board in 2007 as an independent director; having served as the British Swimming Team Manager at 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games.

He was the Chef de Mission for ParalympicsGB leading Britain’s most successful team of 300 athletes and over 250 support staff through the most successful Paralympic Games in London 2012.  In 2010 he was the Chef de Mission of the England Commonwealth Games team in Delhi.  During 2011 he was appointed the Chef de Mission for Team GB at the European Youth Olympic Festival and the England Team at the Commonwealth Youth Games.
 
Craig is a member of the LEN (European Swimming Governing Body) Technical Swimming Committee and referees regularly at European Championships.  He is a member of the UK Mission Control panel overseeing preparations for future Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as being a member of the UK Sport Leadership Development Advisory Group.
 
Craig is a qualified company secretary, Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, and the founding director of an award winning consultancy, specialising in corporate governance and compliance. He has been involved in sports leadership and management in direct and advisory roles for over 20 years.  He is a regular presenter at leadership, management and sporting conferences and was an external examiner at the University of Hertfordshire for its collaborative course with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, an MSc in Finance and Corporate Governance.
