British Swimming Strategy 2009-2013

The period between 2009 and 2013 is a critical phase for British Swimming. Read on to learn more about its plans.

We have been building our success since 1998 and we were aware this would take time and would require patience.

We know other nations have taken 15-20 years to get to where we want to be and as we reflect on the success from Beijing we look forward to a further step change in London in 2012.

The challenge is to maximise our opportunities from a home Games and continue the momentum beyond 2012 into 2014 in Glasgow and then on towards 2016 and the future.

Swimming, like other sports, will deliver for our nation, athletes with world class talent competing at a world class level supported by a world class system.

This is the legacy we want to see from this period in our history and the British Swimming Strategic Plan 2009 - 2013 sets out to provide an important step on that route.
