Eleanor's Career
While London 2012 will be her first senior Games, Ellie already has an Olympic medal to her name, having won 400m Freestyle bronze at the inaugural Youth Olympics in Singapore two years ago. Specialising in the middle-distance freestyle events, she reached the 200m Free final at her only European Junior Championships in Prague in 2009. Ellie showed glimpses of her senior potential in 2011, finishing fourth in the 800m Free and scooping silver in the 1500m Free at the British Gas Swimming Championships. But after impressing with World Cup medals and a European final appearance in the 2011 winter short course season, she was one of the surprise packages of the 2012 British Champs, winning 400m Free bronze and qualifying Olympics spots for the individual 800m Freestyle and the 4x200m Freestyle Relay.
