  • Away from swimming, she's a huge fan of rugby union - particularly her home nation of Wales.

Nyree's Career

Nyree is preparing for her fourth Paralympic Games at London 2012, having won nine medals including two golds over the last three Games in Sydney, Athens and Beijing. While she has won international medals in SB5 100m Breaststroke, S6 400m Freestyle and SM6 200m Individual Medley, her greatest achievements have been over S6 100m Backstroke. Having won silver in the latter event on her Paralympic debut at Sydney 2000, she upgraded to gold four years later before winning silver again in Beijing. She has impressed at IPC World Championship level, claiming S6 100m Backstroke gold in 2002, 2006 and most recently in 2010. Nyree missed the 2011 season as she gave birth to her first child Ella with husband and fellow Paralympic swimmer Sascha Kindred. She returned to competitive action at the British Gas Swimming Championships 2012 where she booked her spot at her fourth Paralympics over 100m Backstroke.
