The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Did you know?

  • Vicki always loved swimming and was a strong swimmer from an early age but preferred to be under the water. Her coach suggested that she try synchro and she absolutely loved it. Shortly after she joined Rushmoor SSC aged just six years old.
  • Shei was part of a swimming club at the age of three and competed in diving as a youngster alongside synchro.
  • She says her ultimate evening of relaxation would be to have a long bath then curl up and watch a film.

Vicki's Career

Vicki has progressed through the British junior teams to become an important part of the senior team preparing for London 2012. As a multiple national champion, she competed at one World Junior Championship and two European Junior Championships before breaking into the senior set-up in 2009. She competed with the British team at the 2009 European Champions Cup and the World Championships in Rome later in the year. Last season, she competed in the same two events, helping the Brits to Combination bronze at the Champions Cup before her second Worlds in Shanghai.
