Willis makes history on final day in Poland

Andrew Willis made history on the final day of the European Short Course Championships as he broke the English record in his favourite 200m Breaststroke.
The old mark of 2:07.91 was the oldest remaining in the English senior short course record books, having been set by double Olympic medallist Nick Gillingham in December 1993.
But World Championship finalist Willis made light work of surpassing the record, clocking 2:06.02 in his morning heat.
And after finishing seventh in the final in 2:06.32, Willis admitted he’d gone all out in the heats to try and break the record.
“I came here wanting that record and I put most of my energy in this morning’s swim,” said Willis.
“I wasn’t too sure if I’d make the final but it’s been some tough racing and it’s great to get it done.”
