3rd February 2012

Hannah Miley’s burgeoning reputation was further enhanced last season as she took her first World Championship medal in Shanghai, turning in a disciplined performance to capture silver in her favourite 400m Individual Medley.

Her efforts - holding off Olympic champion and world record holder Stephanie Rice by 0.01 seconds - underlined her status as one of Great Britain's best ever medley swimmers and put her another step closer to completing her international set of medals.

World Short Course medals in 2008, European Short Course in 2009, European and Commonwealth gold in 2010 and World silver in 2011.

All that remains for the Scot is Olympic glory in a season that begins in earnest at March's British Gas Swimming Championships at the London Aquatics Centre.
