Lowe previews the European Short Course Championships

2nd December 2011

In December 2010, Jemma Lowe struck silver at the World Short Course Championships to kickstart a season which saw her break Welsh records in the 100m and 200m Butterfly and reach the final in both events at the World Championships in Shanghai.

A year on from that success in Dubai, Lowe is one of the marquee names of a strong British Gas GBR Swimming Team heading out to the premier short course event of the 2011 calendar - the European Short Course Championships in Szczecin, Poland.

We caught up with the Welsh swimmer at her training base at the British Gas ITC Swansea to get the low-down on her preparation for the first major event of the Olympic season.

If you want to know Jemma's thoughts on the following questions, click the video below.

  • How much are you looking forward to returning to competition in Poland?
  • Did your silver at the 2010 World Short Course Championships play a part in your successes last season?
  • What targets have you set for the European Short Course Championships?
  • How good is the Championships as an introduction to senior internationals for younger swimmers in the team?

The LEN European Short Course Swimming Championships takes place in Szczecin, Poland between 8 - 11 December 2011.
