Jamieson eighth in 100m Breaststroke final
9th December 2011
Michael Jamieson admitted he was desperate to start his 200m Breaststroke campaign after finishing eighth in the 100m Breaststroke final at the European Short Course Championships in Poland.
The British Gas ITC Bath swimmer smashed his personal best with a time of 58.66 to reach the final in Sczcecin.
And while he fell shy of his semi final mark with his final time of 58.91, the Scottish 200m Breaststroke specialist admitted he was excited to turn his attention to the longer distance.
"The goal was to make the final in the 100 and that's only going to help the 200 on Sunday which I'm really looking forward to," said Jamieson.
"I'm always going to be a 200 swimmer but the older I get the more important that 100 is becoming in order to get our fast in the first two lengths of the 200."
