The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Welcome to the British Gas Swimming Championships 2011 subsection. Here you can look back at the 2011 event and watch highlights from the action in Manchester.

The 2011 British Gas Swimming Championships held between 5-12 March at Manchester Aquatics Centre was one of the most exciting to date.

Double Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington was one of the undisputed stars of the Championships, retaining her titles over 200m, 400m and 800m Freestyle.

Meanwhile, 14 swimmers won double gold, Jonathan Fox broke his own S7 100m Backstroke world record and Keri-anne Payne smashed Rebecca Cooke's eight-year old 1500m Freestyle record.
