Day eight of the 2011 British Gas Swimming Championships in Manchester saw Roberto Pavoni and Hannah Miley take victories in the men’s and women’s 400m individual medley while Liam Tancock cruised to gold in the men’s 50m backstroke.

The morning session saw European and Commonwealth champion Hannah Miley stormed through qualifying in her favored 400m Individual Medley, whilst in the men’s event British record holder Thomas Haffield lead qualifiers, winning his heat in 4:23.39.

David Davies went on to win the 1500m Freestyle title, dipping under the World Championships selection time as well as sealing his place at the World Open Water trials in May.
