Davies on track in 1500m Freestyle heats

Double olympic medallist David Davies led qualifiers from day six’s 1500m Freestyle heats at the British Gas Swimming Championships in London Aquatics Centre.

Competing in his first and only event of the week, the defending champion won his heat in 15:19.80 to book lane four for day seven's final.

Daniel Fogg clocked the second fastest time of the morning, touching in 15:22.55 while Lewis Smith was third fastest through in 15:24.62.

Francesca Halsall set the fastest British qualifying time in the heats of the 50m Freestyle this morning.

Following on from her victory in last night's 100m Freestyle final, the defending champion posted a time of 24.95 to claim four in the second of tonight's semi finals.

Amy Smith - who joined Halsall in booking her Olympic spot after silver in last night's 100m Free - was second fastest in 25.37 while another Loughborough swimmer, Emma Wilkins, was third fastest in 26.01.
