Ellie Simmonds admits she’s feeling primed make a splash on her first visit to the Olympic Aquatics Centre at the 2012 British Gas Swimming Championships in March.
The double Paralympic champion - who turned 17 last November - has spent the past two weeks at a British Disability Swimming training camp in South Africa and insists it has left her feeling fresh to make a challenge on four fronts at the Paralympic Trials.
The Games just can’t come quick enough, the whole team is getting excited.
“Training’s going really well, we’re all focusing on the trials in March which is for qualification”, she said.
“We’ve just come back from a two-week training camp in South Africa which went really well, so we’re all on a high.
“The Games just can’t come quick enough, the whole team is getting excited.
“We have to hit a time on the day and that’s how we’ll know if we’ve qualified or not. It is quite hard but it’s good having something to focus on.”
