Kindred seals first Paralympic time in Medley

Sascha Kindred secured his first Paralympic qualification time of the meet as he led qualifiers in the MC 200m Individual Medley at the British Gas Swimming Championships 2012.

The six-time Paralympic champion won MC 50m Butterfly gold last night at London Aquatics Centre and carried his form into this morning's heats, clocking 2:44.51 to progress.

James Crisp (SM9) was second through to the final, touching in 2:23.17 while S10 swimmer Rob Welbourn qualified in third on 2:22.44.

There were more qualifiers in the heats of the women's event as Eleanor Simmonds, Natalie Jones, Rhiannon Henry, Louise Watkin and Claire Cashmore all made the Paralympic qualification time for their respective classifications.

Simmonds (SM6) was the top qualifier for tonight's final with her time of 3:13.49 while Jones (SM6) was second in 3:14.74.

Henry (SM13) progressed in third in 2:35.67 ahead of Watkin (SM9) fourth in 2:37.53.

Cashmore (SM9) was eighth into the final but secured her first Paralympic qualification time with her effort of 2:38.77.
