Paralympic stars ready for final challenge ahead of Montreal
17th June 2013
Great Britain’s 2012 Paralympic heroes will all be in action across a full MC schedule at this month’s British Gas Swimming Championships in Sheffield.
The British Gas GBR team for this summer’s IPC World Championships in Montreal has already been selected following performances at the British International Disability Swimming Championships in April.
After London 2012 I now have much more confidence and self belief and I will take that into the British Championships and then hopefully on to Canada.
But the British Gas Swimming Championships has a proud history of integrating able-bodied and multi-classification disability races with the 2013 event no different.
And Craig, who was named BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year after landing S7 400m Freestyle gold as a 15-year old at London 2012, – admitted he wants to continue his good form at Ponds Forge ahead of what will be his IPC World Championship debut in August.
“Last year was unbelievable and to say that I did my first major competition at a home Games that young and to do what I did made it all the more special,” said Craig.
“That gives me some good experience to get to Canada and repeat that because now I want to win a major medal at a competition abroad.
“I just want to keep going and going. The only person that can stop me is me and that isn’t going to happen and I will do everything I can to give myself the best chance.””
