Roberto Pavoni moved a step closer to completing a golden hat-trick after leading qualifiers from the 200m Individual Medley heats on the final day of the 2014 British Gas Swimming Championships in Glasgow.
The Loughborough swimmer, who has already won the 200m Butterfly and 400m Individual Medley titles in Scotland, touched in 2:01.65 to progress ahead of Tom Litten (2:01.73) and Max Litchfield (2:02.54).
City of Sheffield’s Ellie Faulkner was the fastest qualifier from the women’s 400m Freestyle heats, progressing in 4:11.21.
Welsh record holder Jazz Carlin touched out Faulkner for gold last year and will be by Faulkner’s side again in tonight’s final after qualifying in 4:12.08 while Hannah Miley will aim for her first medal of the Championships on the final day after progressing third fastest in 4:12.25.
Four-time IPC World champion Amy Marren led the way in the SM10 200m Individual Medley, clocking 2:36.13 to progress.
Tully Kearny and Eleni Papadopoulos were second and third fastest through in 2:39.15 and 2:41.59 respectively.
