Russell continues to impress in London

Hannah Russell broke the British S12 record for the 100m Butterfly after swimming to victory in her heat this morning.

Russell, who claimed her first British title with MC 100m Backstroke gold in an S12 European record earlier in the week, swam a comfortable race ahead of this evening’s final.

The Guildford swimmer touched in 1:11.67 to duck under the Paralympic qualification time.

Meanwhile, City of Manchester's Eleni Papadopoulos (S10) will lead qualifiers into the MC 100m Fly final after clocking 1:13.74 for 786 points.

Stephanie Millward (S9) was second to progress in 1:13.51 for 748 points while Tully Kearney's 1:15.89 personal best saw her progress third with Russell fifth.

Rafael Bagott will lead the way into the final of the men’s MC 100m Butterfly after securing the top spot from this morning’s heats.

The 14-year old (S13) touched in a personal best 1:01.32 to claim 815 points.

James Hollis (S10) qualified second fastest for the final with 802 points and a personal best time of 1:00.27 while James Clegg (S12) also clocked a personal best 1:02.35 to qualify in third on 760 points.

Finally, Sascha Kindred will go into the final of the men’s 50m Butterfly ranked number one after a strong swim in his heat.

The six-time Paralympic champion touched in 32.91 to progress with 819 points ahead of Matt Walker (S7) and Sam Bradley (S7).
