Top Result: Four golds, a silver and a bronze from two Paralympics. Another four golds from the 2010 World Championships. And she's still only 18.
2012 Season: Another record-breaking season in the life of Ellie Simmonds. Became the first world record breaker at London Aquatics Centre at the British Gas Swimming Championships. Was then one of the faces of the 2012 Paralympics, delivering one of the moments of the Games with an epic S6 400m Freestyle gold after a nail-biting race against USA's Victoria Arlen.
Did you know: Having become the youngest person to receive an MBE after her double gold in Beijing 2008, Ellie was awarded an OBE after her two golds at London 2012.

Name: Jessica-Jane Applegate
Date of birth: 22nd August 1996

Top Result: Competing at her first senior international Championships, Jessica-Jane won Paralympic gold over 200m Freestyle in the S14 category at London 2012.
2012 Season: As well as her breakthrough Paralympic gold medal, Jessica-Jane set nine British records in the S14 classification in the long and short course pool.
Did you know: Jessica-Jane says photography was her favourite subject at school.

Name: Oliver Hynd
Date of birth: 27th October 1994
Training Base: Nova Centurion
Coach: Glenn Smith
Top Result: Ollie has been one of the top international performers in the S8 class over the past two years, winning gold (400m Individual Medley), silver (400m Freestyle) and bronze (100m Backstroke) at the 2011 European Championships then repeating the exact same results on his Paralympic debut at London 2012.
2012 Season: A hat-trick of medals to celebrate his Paralympic debut, Ollie's 200m Individual Medley gold being the highlight as he beat his own European record to top the podium at London 2012.
Did you know: Ollie is a big table tennis fan and says he would be playing ping-pong if he wasn't a world class swimmer.

Name: Josef Craig
Date of birth: 17th February 1997
Training Base: South Tyneside Swim Team
Coach: Paul Robinson
Top Result: Josef sprang one of the biggest surprises of the 2012 Paralympics, breaking the world record in the heats and final to win S7 400m Freestyle gold on his Paralympic debut in London.
2012 Season: After showing encouraging signs throughout the season, Josef broke through as a 15-year old at the Paralympics, winning S7 400m Freestyle gold in emphatic fashion. In December, he claimed his second big prize, winning BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.
Did you know: Josef is friends with Little Mix singer Jade Thirlwall, both being patrons of South Tyneside charity Cancer Connections.

Name: Jonathan Fox
Date of birth: 30th May 1991
Training Base: Manchester HPC
Coach: Mick Massey
Top Result: Coming into 2012, Jon was European champion, world champion and world record holder over S7 100m Backstroke. He completed his set with Paralympic gold at London 2012.
2012 Season: Having won silver at the Paralympics in 2008, Jon finally got his hands on Paralympic gold in the S7 100m Backstroke at London 2012. He also set world records over 50m and 100m Backstroke during the season.
Did you know: Winning his Paralympic gold on the first night of the Games, Jon became the first British athlete to stand on the top of the podium in the Aquatics Centre at London 2012.

Name: Charlotte Henshaw
Date of birth: 16th January 1987
Training Base: Nova Centurion
Coach: Glenn Smith
Top Result: As well as winning gold and silver at European level, Charlotte is a Paralympic (2012) and IPC World (2010) silver medallist in her main event, SB6 100m Breaststroke.
2012 Season: Having endured a tough season in the build-up to the Paralympic Trials, Charlotte found her form at the Games, improving on her fourth place from 2008 to finish second in the SB6 100m Breaststroke, just 0.03 shy off gold.
Did you know: Charlotte is a huge fan of musicals - Les Miserables and Wicked being her two favourites - and can play the piano.

Name: Sascha Kindred
Date of birth: 13th December 1977
Training Base: Leominster Kingfisher SC
Coach: Emma Patrick
Top Result: Where to start..... Sascha has been consistently one of the stars of disability swimming for the past 15 years with six individual Paralympic gold medals and six individual IPC World Championship titles.
2012 Season: Had no problems booking his spot on the Paralympic team with a hat-trick of golds at the British Gas Swimming Championships before winning SM6 200m Individual Medley silver at London 2012, medalling for the fifth Paralympics in succession.
Did you know: Sascha is married to fellow Paralympic swimming medallist Nyree Kindred and the pair's first child Ella was born in July 2011.

Name: Stephanie Millward
Date of birth: 20th September 1981
Training Base: Corsham ASC
Coach: Martin Mosey
Top Result: Her greatest medal haul is from the 2009 IPC European Championships where she scooped five golds and a silver in the S9 classification, but Steph also won five silvers and a bronze at the 2010 IPC World Champs and four silvers and a bronze on her Paralympic debut last year.
2012 Season: Steph was one of the stars of the Paralympic swimming team, winning four silvers and one bronze on her Paralympic debut.
Did you know: With her five medals, Steph was the most decorated British swimmer in the pool from the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Name: Hannah Russell
Date of birth: 5th August 1996
Training Base: Kelly College
Coach: Robin Brew
Top Result: After a couple of medals on her international debut at the 2011 IPC European Champs, Hannah continued to impress with silver and two bronzes at London 2012.
2012 Season: A breakthrough year for Hannah as she set S12 short course world records, won her first senior British title over 100m Backstroke then starred on her Paralympic debut with S12 400m Freestyle silver and bronze over 100m Backstroke and 100m Butterfly.
Did you know: With 400m Freestyle as one of her best events, Hannah holds Rebecca Adlington as one of her biggest swimming role models.

Name: Andrew Mullen
Date of birth: 29th November 1996
Training Base: Ren 96
Coach: Andy Jackson
Top Result: Andy was just 14 when he made his international debut at the IPC European Championships, winning S5 50m Butterfly silver and SM5 200m Individual Medley bronze.
2012 Season: More encouraging progress for the young Scot as he made his Paralympic debut at London 2012, finishing fourth in both the 50m Backstroke and 50m Butterfly.
Did you know: Andy is a big fan of American sports and holds the likes of LeBron James and Kobe Bryant as two of his sporting idols, as well as boxer Floyd Mayweather.
