Go Swimming has everything you need to know about swimming. If you are a parent, a non swimmer or just want to improve your technique this is the section for you.

In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Disability Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Talent ID in England

Talent assessment days take place throughout the UK to find potential new athletes. If you feel you have what it takes then read on.

Hosted regionally by the ASA, Talent Identification Days are designed to unearth potentially talented swimmers not already involved in disability swimming who can be signposted into high quality swimming provision.

At Talent Identification Days swimmers are required to swim lengths so that potential talent can be assessed.

Following the days swimmers are provided with further information regarding the most appropriate opportunities available to them.

When are the next Talent ID Days?

The next English days are planned for 11 and 12 May 2013. The locations have yet to be decided. Please keep returning to this page to check for updates.

Assessment Centres and Swimlink

Assessment centres are situated at local swimming clubs that work in partnership with the ASA to provide an assessment opportunity for any swimmer with a disability.

During the session swimmers will be asked to complete basic swim skills and assessment tasks to determine their ability level.

After the initial assessment swimmers will be directed to appropriate swimming provision best suited to the individual swimmer.

There are also ‘Swimlink’ sessions available in limited locations. These aim to further enhance the swimming skills of young disabled people by bridging the gap between learning to swim and progressing on to a swimming club.

These sessions will enable the young person to progress into a mainstream coaching environment.
