The ASA/Scottish Swimming/Swim Wales and British Swimming are continually on the lookout for new talented swimmers .

There are a number of initiatives and projects running to find and get more swimmers with a physical, sensory or intellectual impairment involved in disability swimming and on the pathway to the podium.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED WITH DISABILTY SWIMMING?

If you are a swimmer with a disability and can swim 15 metres or more then you can get involved in swimming. To apply all you have to do is download the swimmer ID Tracker form by clicking below, complete it and return it to:

Or email it to WCPDisabilitySwimming@swimming.org. You will then receive the information you need to get started.

DO YOU KNOW A POTENTIALCHAMPION?

British Disability Swimming is on a quest to help school teachers, swimming teachers, coaches, swimming officials, volunteers or anyone who comes into contact with disabled swimmers to help us to find the next generation of swimming heroes.

What we are looking for:

  • Young swimmers with physical, sensory or intellectual impairment
  • Adult swimmers with a newly acquired impairment

Swimming ability considerations are:

  • Due to impairment factors they may not be the fastest swimmer in the group or race
  • Due to impairment factors their strokes may have some adaptations

Desirable traits in potential disability swimmers could be:

  • Enjoys swimming
  • Likes to race
  • Has an aspiration to improve

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES IN DISABLIILTY SWIMMING

Other opportunities are available to all those who wish to participate in swimming in whatever capacity they choose, either as swimmers or volunteers.
