In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Para-Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

British Gas Diving Championships 2012

Welcome to the British Gas Diving Championships 2012 subsection. This Olympic Trials event took place 8-10 June 2012 at Ponds Forge, Sheffield. Read on for more details.

Day One

The synchro titles were decided on the opening day in Sheffield with Tom Daley and Pete Waterfield scoring 475.77 to win gold in the 10m Synchro.

Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow were the only entries as they won the women's 10m Synchro crown while Leeds duo Rebecca Gallantree and Alicia Blagg defended their title in the 3m Synchro.

Nick Robinson-Baker and Chris Mears were the other gold medallists on the day, winning the men's 3m Synchro.

Day Two

The second day of action saw Stacie Powell claim gold in a thrilling 10m Platform final.

All three of the podium finishers beat the 350 mark but it was Powell who guaranteed her spot at London 2012 with a score of 376.05 ahead of Couch and Monique Gladding.

Meanwhile, Jack Laugher defended his title in the 3m Springboard to take a step towards his first Olympic Games.

Day Three

Daley returned for his second gold on the final day in Sheffield, claiming the 10m Platform title ahead of synchro partner Waterfield.

The Plymouth diver dominated the final, scoring 547.60 to finish more than 90 points clear of the field.

Gallantree also secured her second gold of the Championships on the final day, sealing a fourth consecutive title in the 3m Springboard.
