PERSONAL

Did you know?
While swimming is her number one passion, Jemma admits to a love of mathematics - the subject of her studies at the University of Florida between 2008 and 2010 - doesn't come far behind. She's also a animal-lover and has five cats and two dogs at home. Meanwhile, her sister is a talented singer and progressed through to the 'bootcamp' stage of the 2011 X Factor.

Jemma's Career
Jemma Lowe made her senior breakthrough in 2008 as she claimed individual medals at both the World and European Short Course Championships, topped the podium with the British 4x100m Medley Relay quartet at the European Championships and reached the 100m Butterfly final on her Olympic debut at Beijing 2008. A relatively quiet year in 2009 was followed by a spectacular return to form in 2010 as Lowe won 100m Butterfly bronze for Wales at the Commonwealth Games and 200m Butterfly silver at the World Short Course Championships in Dubai. After switching to train under Bud McAllister at the British Gas ITC in Swansea, Lowe continued her progress to clock personal bests over both 100m and 200m Butterfly and reach the World Championship final in both events.
