Paralympic champion Applegate receives MBE

13th March 2013

Jessica-Jane Applegate has received her MBE from the Princess Royal at Buckingham Palace.

The 16-year old won Paralympic gold on her debut at London 2012 last year, taking victory with a Paralympic record in the S14 200m Freestyle.

Applegate has carried over her form into 2013, winning four golds at last week's British Gas International Meet.

And the Paralympic champion will be one of the big draws at next month's IPC World Trials at the British International Disability Swimming Championships (BIDSC) at Ponds Forge.
