In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Para-Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

British coaches awarded Mussabini Medal

Six of the country’s top swimming coaches have been recognised for their hard work, dedication and success at the UK Sports Coaching Awards which took place on Tuesday 20th November.

Mick Massey, Billy Pye, Alex Pinniger, Ken Newsworthy, Glenn Smith and John Stout were awarded the Mussabini Medal and inducted into the Hall of Fame to recognise their contribution to what has been an historic year in British sport.

Previous recipients of the medal at swimming coaches Ian Armiger and Terry Dennison and legendary football manager Alex Ferguson and former Athletics Head Coach Charles Van Commenee.

Swansea High Performance Centre’s Coach Billy Pye was shortlisted for the High Performance Coach of the Year for his work with medallists Ellie Simmonds and Stephanie Millward. The award was given to Toni Minichello, who coached
