The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

Craig and Applegate in final three for Young SPOTY

Paralympic champions Jessica-Jane Applegate and Josef Craig have named in the final three for the 2012 BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.

Craig broke two world records and dominated the 400m Freestyle to win Paralympic gold in his debut appearance at the London Games.

Applegate became the first S14 Paralympic champion since 2000 when she won the 200m Freestyle with a powerful final 50m.

Aquatics sports have a proud history of success in the Young Sports Personality category winning the award five times in its 11 year history including four times in the past five years.

The winner will be announced during Sunday's live show on BBC One.
