14th Nov 2011

European silver medallist Emma Hollis broke two short course world records in the pool at the British Universities and College Sport Championships (25m) that took place in Sheffield at the weekend.

Loughborough University's Hollis swam to new S8 records in the 800m Freestyle and the 400m Individual Medley.

When I looked up I couldn't believe the scoreboard was right!

In the 800m Freestyle, Hollis looked ahead of the record throughout the race and knocked 37 seconds off the previous world standard as she touched in 10:55.33.

Meanwhile, in the 400m Individual Medley she stopped the clock in 6:10.57, knocking 35 seconds off the world record.

"It's crazy", said Hollis. "All the hard work has finally paid off!
