The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Simmonds named Young Paralympian of the Year

Paralympic champion Ellie Simmonds has been awarded with the accolade of Young Paralympian of the Year at the Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year Awards.

At the glittering bash in London, Simmonds was recognised for her achievements throughout 2012 culminating with her winning four medals at the Paralympic Games.

Simmonds also became the first athlete to break a world record in the London Aquatics Centre, which was the stage for standout performances from athletes around the world during both the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
