In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Para-Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Thirteen the lucky number for BIDSC Paralympians

This year’s British International Disability Swimming Championships (BIDSC) will host 13 of London 2012’s Paralympic champions at Ponds Forge, Sheffield next month.

With the Championships doubling up as the one and only trial for the British team for this summer’s IPC World Championships in Montreal, stakes are high for the home swimmers.

Click here to buy tickets from TicketmasterLondon 2012 golden girl Ellie Simmonds is the star attraction in the field while Jonathan Fox will also be looking to make an impact ahead of the defence of his S7 100m Backstroke world title in Canada.

Meanwhile, fellow Paralympic gold medallists Jessica-Jane Applegate, Oliver Hynd and Josef Craig will aim to book their spots at their first IPC World Championships

A host of international stars have confirmed their attendance as well, taking the opportunity to race against their British rivals.

The Netherlands bring three of their Paralympic champions to Sheffield in the form of Marc Evers, Michael Schoenmaker and Lisette Teunissen while Germany’s Kirsten Bruhn is no stranger to BIDSC and will look to add to further her medal collection at Ponds Forge.

Finally, London 2012 gold medallists Jon Margeir Sverrison (Iceland), Maja Reichard (Sweden), Michelle Alonso (Spain) and Darragh McDonald (Ireland) have also confirmed their entry for the meet.
