Three swimmers named in BBC Young SPOTY top 10

Josef Craig, Jessica-Jane Applegate and Siobhan-Marie O’Connor have been listed in the top 10 for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.
Craig broke two world records and dominated the 400m Freestyle to win Paralympic gold in his debut appearance at the London Games.
Applegate became the first S14 Paralympic champion since 2000 when she won the 200m Freestyle with a powerful final 50m.
O’Connor was the youngest swimmer for Team GB at the Olympic Games after qualifying in the second trials and putting disappointment of the first trials behind her. She went on to compete in the 100m Breaststroke as well as the heats and final of the 4x100m Medley Relay.
In November, O'Connor finished her season by landing her first senior international medal with 100m Individual Medley bronze at the European Short Course Championships.
Aquatics sports have a proud history of success in the Young Sports Personality category winning the award five times in its 11 year history including four times in the past five years.
