The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Barrow just misses medals in Rostock

Sarah Barrow finished in fourth place in the women’s 10m Platform at the European Diving Championships in Rostock, Germany.

Competing for the first time in the individual event since 2010, Barrow made an instant impact lying in second place after her first dive.

Barrow remained in the mix for medals throughout the final and finished just 3.75 points off the bronze medal.

After the final round, Barrow finished with a total of 319.25.

Fellow British Gas GBR Team member Tonia Couch had a shaky start to the final but held her nerve and fought her way back from eighth place to fifth. She finished with a total score of 300.10.

In the men’s 1m Springboard Oliver Dingley finished in sixth place with 382.35 points.

On the first day of competition Rebecca Gallantree and Dingley finished in seventh place in the Team event with a score of 327.35.
