The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Bronze for Haffety in Italy

Millie Haffety won the British Gas GBR Diving Team’s first medal of the European Junior Diving Championships in Bergamo, Italy.

Haffety won bronze in the Group B 3m Springboard and after finishing fifth in the prelims she showed her maturity to move up to third.

The City of Sheffield diver took her first medal of the Championships after scoring 362.40. Teammate Sarah Leach finished fourth with a score of 360.35.

The British contingent for the Team Event consisted of Sam Thornton, Francesca Del Celo, Lois Toulson and James Heatly and they took fifth place over all. They scored 272.95 points overall.

William Hallam reached his first European Junior Championship final in the boys’ 1m Springboard.

Hallam (Bradford Esprit) finished in sixth place to go one better than the prelims. He scored a total of 361.90.
