In British Swimming you will find information about the world of high performance sport, including the disciplines of Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Para-Swimming.

The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

Couch secures first international honours at Grand Prix

Tonia Couch won her first ever international medal and then followed it up just hours later with her second as she led the British Diving Team, powered by British Gas, at the FINA Diving Grand Prix in the U.S.

The Plymouth diver took individual bronze in the Women’s Platform event, to secure her first world class honour, before partnering Sarah Barrow (City of Leeds) to another bronze in the Women’s Platform Synchro at the Fort Lauderdale competition.

Couch finished with 334.25 with China’s Sunuo Ma winning gold in 380.25 and Jiao Liu finishing with 347.40 and the silver medal.

In the synchro event the British pair scored 293.04 behind gold medallist Shengping Wu and Jiaming Zhu of China with a score if 350.88 and American’s Haley Ishimatsu and Mary-Beth Dunnichay in silver on 311.64.
