Daley closes World Series with Platform silver
British diving World Champion Tom Daley won silver in the Men’s 10m Platform at the final leg of the FINA/Midea Diving World Series in Mexico with his highest ever score at an international event.
The Plymouth teenager scored 562.80 and drew a 10 from the judges for his new four-and-a-half somersault dive that gave him the biggest score of the final with over 105 points.
Gold went to China once again as Bo Qiu reaffirmed his dominance off the tower with a score of 582.45 while Rommel Pacheco of Mexico with 540.90 took the bronze. British team mate Pete Waterfield finished fifth with a score of 512.
Britain’s eight-strong team, powered by British Gas, also saw Rebecca Gallantree and Megan Sylvester secure a fifth place in the 10m Synchro final while Ben Swain continued his comeback from injury and with partner Nick Robinson-Baker they finished fifth in 3m Synchro.
