Daley leads British divers in Florida

8th May 2013

Olympic medallist Tom Daley will lead a strong British Gas GBR Diving Team on a three-week international tour as the athletes continue to develop their list of dives ahead of the 2013 World Championships.

The action begins tomorrow in the U.S. state of Florida where the fourth leg of the FINA Grand Prix series gets underway in Fort Lauderdale.

Daley, off the back of his FINA Diving World Series 10m platform gold medal in Edinburgh last month, will look to build on the good progress he has made in a season where his prime objective has been to dismantle his dives, analyse each element of a routine, make improvements and adjustments, and then put them back together.

Continuing this season’s development, Daley (Plymouth) will use the next three weeks to develop the level of consistency that is required to succeed on the world stage.

And he will be joined by British divers that have also climbed the World Series podium this season. Chris Mears (Southampton) and Nick Robinson-Baker (Sheffield) medalled in the 3m Synchro in Edinburgh while Becky Gallantree (Leeds) will dive individually after securing 3m Synchro silver with Alicia Blagg at two legs of this year's Series.

The British contingent will compete in Florida (9-12 May) before continuing the FINA Diving World Series with legs in Guadalajara, Mexico (17-19 May) and Mexico City (24-26 May).

You can view divers full World Series history and compare head-to-head records on our FINA Diving World Series mini-site.
