The LEN European Championships will see Tom Daley lead the British Team, powered by British Gas, into action as they aim to take on the best in Europe.

Daley will be making his return from injury as he uses his new lists of dives for the first time in competition. The World Champion will be challenged in his quest for glory by experienced platform divers Germany’s Sascha Klein and Aleksey Kravchenko.

The prestigious 10m Platform event will also see Victor Minibaev (Russia) and Patrick Hausding (both Germany) fighting for the honours.

The 11-strong Team will also see 13-year-old Alicia Blagg and 14-year-old Grace Reid make their European debut.

Reid recently won silver at the European Junior Championships and will be looking to continue her success while Blagg took part in her first senior international in May at the FINA World Cup where she impressed with her performance.

Daley commented: “I haven’t had the best preparations for this competition because of my injury but I am excited to be competing at a European Championships again. Being European Champion does add pressure but I want to go out there and dive consistently.

“This will be my first major competition of the year and I am looking forward to getting onto the boards. I will be using my new dives during the competition and I will be excited to see how they go.”

The British Diving Team, powered by British Gas, consists of:

Max Brick
Thomas Daley
Chris Mears
Nick Robinson Baker
Blake Aldridge
Rebecca Gallantree
Sarah Barrow
Alicia Blagg
Monique Gladding
Grace Reid
Megan Sylvester
