Tom Daley shortlisted for double BBC honours

Tom Daley has been named in the shortlist for the 2010 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.

World diving champion Daley, who is also in the running for the BBC Young Sports Personality Award was nominated for the both prizes 12 months ago before walking away with his second Young Personality Award.

Having already won European and world titles, Daley became double Commonwealth champion in October after returning from a torn tricep to beat Olympic champion Matthew Mitcham in the 10m Platform final and winning the 10m Synchro with partner Max Brick.

The winners will be announced at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year show on 19 December at the LG Arena in Birmingham.
