19 July 2013

The British Gas GBR Diving Team have put the finishing touches to their preparations for the World Championships and are ready for competition which begins on Saturday.

"My preparation hasn’t been ideal but I am feeling good having worked closely with the physio to get myself in the best condition possible," - Olympic bronze medallist Tom DaleyThe competition kicks off with the Men’s 1m Springboard which will see Jack Laugher and Chris Mears take on the world’s best.

Later in the day Alicia Blagg and Becky Gallantree will return to action in the 3m Synchro after enjoying a successful start to 2013.

Tom Daley, who features on the final two days of competition in the 10m Platform, will compete alongside club-mate Daniel Goodfellow.

“I am really looking forward to the competition beginning and being able to stand on the boards alongside the World’s best again,” Daley said. “The pool is great and the views are amazing. I really like competing outdoors too.

“Training in Barcelona has gone well and I have really enjoyed being back with the team after missing a couple of competitions this year.

“I am going to go into the competition and see what happens. Diving is a down to the day sport and I can only focus on what I can do when I stand on those boards.”
