Divers ready for first international challenge of 2014

The British Gas GBR Diving team are heading to China and Dubai for the first two legs of the FINA/NVC Diving World Series with the likes of Olympic bronze medallist Tom Daley ready to return o international action.

Daley will compete in the men’s 10m Platform and faces competition from Olympic champion David Boudia and Olympic silver medallist Qiu Bo.

Don't miss the third leg of the World Series in London this April - click here for info.With his changes to his programme this year, Daley will be looking to get strong performances under his belt ahead of the London leg in his home pool from 25 – 27 April.

“This is the first international competition of the year for me and I can’t wait to get on to the boards to compete,” Daley said. “It’s going to be good to compete alongside Qiu [Bo] and David [Boudia] again and see what I need to do ahead of the Commonwealth Games.

“Being back in the Water Cube in Beijing will be a great start to the World Series. It’s an amazing pool with great memories of my first Olympic experience.

“These two competitions are the first that I will have competed in internationally since I moved to London and started working with Jane [Figueiredo]. We have a great relationship and the changes she has made to my programme are beginning to make an impact on my diving.”

"It's going to be good to compete again and see what I can do ahead of the Commonwealths," - Tom DaleyAlicia Blagg and Rebecca Gallantree return to Beijing after winning silver in the 2013 leg of the Series and will be looking to gain confidence through the Series ahead of this summer’s competitions including the Commonwealth Games.

New pairing of Matty Lee and Daniel Goodfellow will be looking to gain valuable international experience in the men’s 10m Synchro where they will take on World Champions Sascha Klein and Patrick Hausding (GER) and Olympic silver medallists Ivan Garcia and German Sanchez (MEX).
