World Champion Tom Daley is one step closer to clinching the BBC Sports Personality of the Year (SPOTY) award but needs your help to win the prestigious award.

World Champion Tom Daley is one step closer to clinching the BBC Sports Personality of the Year (SPOTY) award but needs your help to win the prestigious award.

The BBC named their top 10 athletes for the SPOTY award earlier this month and Daley is one of the first athletes to have ever been named on the shortlist for both the SPOTY and the BBC Young SPOTY awards.

Daley needs your help to win this award and British Swimming are urging the aquatic community to pick up their phones and vote for the young diving talent when the SPOTY Awards begin at 7pm.

British Swimming are encouraging everyone to get behind Daley to help him claim the title ahead of other top British athletes including Jessica Ennis and Jenson Button, and become the first aquatic athlete to win the award for 45 years.
