Silver for Couch and Barrow at Europeans

Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow won silver in the women’s 10m Synchro at the European Diving Championships in Rostock, Germany.

We're happy to be back on the podium at European level and it's made us hungrier for success at the Worlds - Sarah BarrowThe pair had an excellent start to the competition securing a total of 106.20 points for their required dives and the led the field as they headed towards the first optional dive.

The Brits dropped marks with their first optional dive and moved down to second place but continued well with the final rounds and finished with their highest scoring dive.

Couch and Barrow took 74.88 points in the final round to win their silver medal with a total of 306.24.

"We are disappointed to have not retained our title," Barrow said. "We are happy to be back on the podium at a European level and it has made us hungrier for success at the World Championships. 

"The required dives were the best we have done them in a really long time. It was the third dive that lost us the gold but we can go back and work on that with our coach ahead of Barcelona."
