Torrance wins Grand Prix bronze in Bolzano

Katherine Torrance secured the first FINA Diving Grand Prix medal of her career with 3m Springboard bronze in Bolzano, Italy.
The 15-year old City of Leeds diver held her own amongst an experienced field, progressing through the prelim and semi before finishing ahead of former European silver medallist Uschi Freitag in the final.
Torrance ultimately scored 297.95 in the final to claim bronze behind Italy’s seven-time World Championship medallist Tania Cagnotto (350.10) and China’s Qu Lin (306.65).
Jack Haslam (City of Sheffield) and Sam Thornton (City of Leeds) were also celebrating after combining for bronze in the 3m Synchro.
The British pair scored 372.45 for their medal behind pairs from Russia (390.99) and Italy (377.16).
In the individual 3m competition, Thornton (378.80) finished 10th and Halsam (348.35) 16th while Plymouth’s Shanice Lobb scored 249.40 to finish seventh in the 10m Platform.
