Jackson and Pellegrini out of British Gas Duel in the Pool

04 Dec 2009

Joanne Jackson (British Gas ITC Loughborough) has been suffering with severe illness for the past six weeks and a respiratory infection means she is unable to swim at the Manchester Aquatics Centre event on 18th-19th December.

The E-Stars team (Great Britain, Germany and Italy) will also suffer the loss of double World Champion Federica Pellegrini after she was called to attend an official ceremony in front of the highest political and sports authorities in Italy.

British Gas ITC Swansea swimmer Jaz Carlin has been added to the E-Stars as a replacement.

British Gas, principle partner of British Swimming, is the headline sponsor of the event, which provides a unique opportunity for fans to see the world’s greatest swimmers from the USA and E-Stars team going head-to-head for supremacy in the pool.

Both teams will include up to 18 men and 18 women with British Swimming, Germany and Italy sending a combined team for the short course (25m) meet.
