Huskisson finishes sixth in Turkey

Danielle Huskisson continued her impressive maiden open water season to finish sixth in the third leg of the LEN Open Water Cup in Turkey.

In only the third competitive open water swim of her career, the 20-year old British Gas ITC Stirling swimmer clocked 1:03:36.64  for the 5km race in the Sea of Marmara off Darica.

Huskisson was competing just six days after finishing 33rd in the 10km race on her World Championship debut in Barcelona.

Loughborough University’s Aisha Thornton was 14th in the same race, finishing in 1:05:47.96.

Swansea University’s Chris Suggitt was the top British finisher in the men’s 5km race, setting 57:44.81 for 13th place.

Also in the men’s race, Swim Swansea’s Daniel Jervis (58:55.40) was 25th while Dulwich Dolphins’ Archie Mitchell (1:01:10.82) was 29th.
