Lizzie Simmonds and Adam Barrett stole the show with British records at the 2013 Scottish Gas National Short Course Championships in Edinburgh.

British Gas ITC Bath swimmer Simmonds claimed a clean sweep of the backstroke events, setting new British markers over both 50m and 100m.

The 22-year old took 50m Backstroke victory in 26.45 ahead of British Gas ITC Loughborough’s Georgia Davies who touched in 26.60.

Simmonds clocked 2:01.92 to add the 200m Back title on day two before completing her golden hat-trick with a British record 56.49 effort to take the 100m Back crown on the final night in Scotland.

British Gas ITC Loughborough swimmer Barrett also bagged three golds, topping the podium over 100m Freestyle as well as 50m and 100m Butterfly.

The 21-year old’s British record came in the latter as he clocked 50.05 to topple Michael Rock’s four-year old marker.

Barrett clocked 23.11 for his 50m Fly gold and 47.44 for victory in the 100m Free.
