The ASA is the governing body for the sport in England. In this section you will find all you need to know about joining a club or competing in England and becoming a swimming teacher or coach.

The IoS delivers the ASA’s courses and is a member organisation. Whether you are a teacher, coach, employer or club you will find everything you need to know about qualifications or educating your workforce.

British Swimming express condolences at passing of Charlie Wilson

One of the founders of the British Swimming Coaches Association, Charlie Wilson, has passed away after a short illness.

Please note a funeral will be held on Tuesday 8th July at 2.30 pm at Bedford Crematorium, Norse Road, Bedford MK41 0RL, family flowers only. There will be information on the Order of Service about how donations to The British Heart Foundation and Elizabeth Ward, Bedford Hospital can be made.

Wilson was a coach at the Bedford Modernians and coached Brian Brinkley to his place on the Olympic team.

Wilson was an influential coach who shared his experience with new coaches and was always available to share information during ASA Coaches Courses.

The Governing Body wishes to share its condolences with his family.
